Well what do you know, I already had a blog.  A blog with no posts, but a blog nonetheless.  That's not entirely true- I just published the original opening blog post I wrote- in July 2008.  Nothing much has happened since then- had a couple kids, blah, blah, blah.  I'm hopeless.  When your FIRST child's baby book only has one page filled out, you should just accept defeat and surrender.  But alas, I am an optimistic creature and I will keep trying- and nothing makes me happier than when I stumble across one of my brief and invariably unsuccessful attempts to keep a journal.  Although there's rarely more than one or two entries those pages are like a moment frozen in time.  Instantly I'm transported back to the moment in time when I wrote that entry- suddenly I remember the incidents and situations I wrote about in vivid detail.  It always makes me regret that I'm not more consistent in my record keeping, but maybe then those scattered recollections would be less poignant, mundane even.

Nevertheless, keeping a good account does have its uses- recently I realized that I have almost no recollection of Micaiah during her first 2-3 years (and she's only 4.5 now!)  I remember her birth clearly. . .and then it gets a little blurry.  Ryan got a new job two weeks after she was born.  At 3 weeks postpartum we flew to Atlanta to househunt.  Found and bought a house in a weekend, came home and packed.  Ryan started work the week before the moving trucks came, so I packed up the house and the kids and drove by myself to Atlanta with a 4 year old, a 2 year old and a 6 week old.  I was either very brave or very stupid!

So here I am

I have developed something of a reputation for being difficult to get ahold of. My voicemails, emails. and phone conversations consist of a litany of complaints from family and friends lamenting my inability to answer my cell phone on a regular basis, respond to emails, listen to voicemail or send relatively recent pictures of my children. So here is my solution- follow the misadventures of my family here. I've read many parent's blog that share the amazing accomplishments of their children, from artistic masterpieces done in chalk on the sidewalk, to astonishing verbal feats from toddlers. Don't expect such impressive tales here. My children are decidely less highbrow but thoroughly amusing and enjoyable. . Amongst the boys (their father included) bathroom humor reigns supreme. I just have to decide what the proper waiting period is before I begin sharing their less honorable but hilarious hijinx. . .
